Like water, I find myself following the path of least resistance.
Between my hosting service – which I migrated to recently after my previous one proved intolerably problematic – and my publishing platform, the process of posting to the blog has become riddled with difficulties so unpredictable and persistent as to make it essentially unworkable.
In fact, over the past half-year I believe I’ve spent as much time accessing the site via my file transfer protocol software as I have through the administrative dashboard. Add to that some general internet issues peculiar to my location, and the advisability of relocating this activity to a more reliable, if also more basic, platform is pretty obvious.
Accordingly, I will be moving these posts to Google+. I will lose some of the flexibility and range the current setup affords, but I will also be relieved of the unacceptably onerous obstacles to actually enjoying those. Google+ will handle virtually all the issues that have hindered posting here, allowing me simply to paste and publish.
So, “Managing Meanings” items will continue in this Google+ collection. Additionally, more general topics, typically prompted by daily news and current events, will be published in a collection called “Weighing Meanings.”
